NCAA
Registering with the NCAA is an important step for students who want to play Division I or II sports at the college level. NCAA certifies whether you have taken the required core high school courses, earned a minimum GPA, and are amateur status.
The registration process is completed through the NCAA Eligibility Center and students may create a free Profile Page as a freshman and transition to a paid Certification Account when needed (required for an Official Visit, to sign with a team, and to receive scholarship award). This is commonly completed during junior or senior year.
When registering you will submit personal, athletic, and academic information, send your high school transcript, and request athletic certification during senior year. After you graduate, your final transcript is sent to the NCAA, which then reviews your information and determines whether you are eligible to compete.
NAIA
PlayNAIA.org is the official clearinghouse for NAIA eligibility for NAIA colleges. The NAIA Eligibility Center will determine eligibility based on academic records and additional information provided. NAIA does not have core course requirements but does have minimum standards for high school GPA, and may include SAT/ACT scores and class rank (see NAIA Student Guide below). To register you will visit the NAIA Eligibility Center website (link below), complete an application, and pay the registration fee.
