BCS Welcomes Michael Armstrong!

Michael graduated from Valley High School in 2004. He then attended Potomac State College, majoring in Physical Education. He also played baseball, where he pitched in back-to-back JUCO World Series in 2005 and 2006.

He transferred to WVU Tech to be closer to his grandmother, who had been diagnosed with cancer. At Tech, he continued playing baseball and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Coaching and Education.

He has been married to his wife, Laura, for almost 13 years. They have one child, Layla, who is currently in the first grade at Bible Center—and is over the moon that her dad will be working at her school.

Before accepting this job, Michael worked as a consultant at Frontier Communications for 12 years. He felt God pulling him away from telecommunications and calling him into the school system at George Washington High School, where he has coached baseball since 2016. During his time at GW, he taught special education as well as physical education for the ROTC program. From 2023–2024, he served as Athletic Director and enjoyed working closely with administration, coaches, and fellow ADs.

Michael and his wife are also the owners of Modern Barbershop and Salon in Montgomery, WV—a business his grandfather started over 60 years ago.
Michael is very excited about the opportunity to work at a Christian school with such a great history, reputation, and strong foundation in Christ. As a parent, he observed teachers and administrators putting an emphasis on building strong relationships with students. He’s eager to be in a place where he can help students grow in their relationship with Christ—as well as continue growing on his own.

“God has completely rearranged my career path over the past five years, and I’m thankful it has led me to be a part of the BCS family.”
